Job Description:

Part-Time Student Activities Assistant (10 Month Position)

As a key member of the student Life team, the Student Activities Assistant will serve as a student advocate who aids in creating a campus environment that values student development through co-curricular campus activities.  In an on-going effort to create opportunities for social, intellectual, personal and professional student growth, the Student Activities Assistant will work directly with the FLCC Student Corporation leadership and committees (Student Senate, Clubs, Campus Activities Board) to aid in the execution of evening opportunities.  The Student Activities Assistant will work Monday - Thursday from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. S/he may be asked to flex time periodically to cover late-night programming or conference travel.

Requirements:

Associate Degree required.  Minimum of two years working with students in a college setting (e.g., leadership programs, volunteer center, campus activities, student clubs/organizations, etc. ) required.  Experience with large event planning (e.g. orientation) strongly desired.  work audio/visual technical set up preferred.

Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required.  Must be able to work cooperatively with College departments in coordinating leadership opportuniites.  Must be able to work effectively and efficiently in crisis situations.

This is a part-time, 10 month position.
